The SalzburgMilch cheese plant in Lamprechtshausen has recently become climate-neutral. In recent months, the largest rooftop photovoltaic system in the Austrian province of Salzburg has been installed there. Each year, it supplies as much electrical energy as 460 private households consume. A total of over 4,200 photovoltaic modules generate a combined output of around 1.6 megawatts peak on a roof area of 13,000 m². More than 99% of the solar power generated goes directly into the operation of the cheese dairy. SalzburgMilch offsets the rest of the GHG emissions.
