The Emmi Group has entered into a put option agreement for the acquisition of the leading French Mademoiselle Desserts Group (420 million, 2000 employees, 12 plants in France, England, the Netherlands and Belgium), which specialises in innovative premium patisserie. This transaction would enable the Emmi Group to expand its international market presence in the premium desserts category.
With Mademoiselle Desserts, Emmi aims to create a “desserts powerhouse” which, together with its own desserts, accounts for 17% of Group sales. The current CEO of the Mademoiselle Desserts Group, Didier Boudy, is to assume responsibility for the newly created Emmi Desserts Powerhouse, which will also bring together the Emmi dessert companies in Italy and the USA.
