Regenerative cheddar brand, Golden Hooves, has been listed in The Good Shopping Guide’s Top 200 Ethical Businesses for 2024. As the only dairy brand to be named in this year’s Top 200, Golden Hooves has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to having positive ethical impact on the environment, animals and people.
Independently certified through ethical accreditation, all of this year’s Top 200 are businesses committed to regular checks on their ethical policies, practices and overall public record, as well as being routinely fact checked against multiple independent authorities.
Following British farmer-owned dairy co-operative, First Milk, launching its Golden Hooves Mature and Vintage Cheddars last year, the business has achieved a number of significant awards and certifications, including the King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, as well as B-Corporation certification. This latest accolade for Golden Hooves places the brand at the forefront of ethical dairy farming in the UK, as it continues to represent the collective sustainability efforts of the co-op’s 700 members.
Said Leona McDonald, director of Golden Hooves: “It’s so exciting to see the Golden Hooves brand make this year’s Top 200, and we’re super proud to be sat alongside some of the UK’s most pioneering ethical companies. Golden Hooves, First Milk and the 700 farms we represent are all on a journey, working collectively to do better by the planet every day. For us, regenerative farming is a mindset of continual improvement, so while we’re delighted to receive such recognition from The Good Shopping Guide and others, we remain focussed on our projects to achieve improved outcomes for the soil, the cows and the people. We believe that dairy farming can be part of the solution and leave the world in a better place.” For more visit goldenhooves.co.uk
