The German competition authority Bundeskartellamt has published its decision regarding the sale of parts of the German consumer business of Royal FrieslandCampina to the Theo Müller group of companies. The sale of the Landliebe, Tuffi, Gastro and other brands, as well as the production sites in Heilbronn, Cologne and Schefflenz, has been approved subject to conditions.
In the next few weeks, the Theo Müller group of companies will take over all the plants and thus also the responsibility for the employees working there as well as the associated assets. The sales responsibility for the divested portfolio is expected to remain with FrieslandCampina until 31 May 2023.
For reasons of competition, the Bundeskartellamt has obliged the Theo Müller Group to find a new buyer or licensee for the Tuffi brand and the rice pudding and fresh milk-based mixed drinks segments operated under Landliebe. According to the Theo Müller Group, talks are already being held with potentially interested parties.
