Tested by a professional: DMK’s vegan cheese scores not only in terms of taste, but also with excellent browning and melting behaviour (Photo: DMK)
After DMK Group launched vegan desserts and a vegan cocoa drink on German supermarket shelves under the Milram brand in the first quarter of 2022, a vegan cheese alternative is now following suit. The latest vegan product in the DMK range not only tastes good, according to the press release, but also convinces in further processing with the browning and melting behaviour familiar from classic cheese. In the first step, the vegan cheese alternative will be available to industrial customers from Q4 2022.
The vegan cheese alternative bears the name “Velander” – alluding both to the vegan properties of the product and to its connection to agriculture and its home in a cooperative company of farmers – and is produced at DMK’s largest cheese location in Edewecht, Lower Saxony. Thanks in particular to different recipes for cold and hot application, the vegan DMK cheese alternative offers advantages for customers and consumers compared to the current market standard.
