Newlat transfer the entire dairy business, including the former Polenghi plant in Lodi, to Centrale del Latte Italia (Cli). This creates the third largest milk processor in Italy after Parmalat and Granarolo. Cli represents a turnover of € 320m and 800 employees. Newlat makes a total turnover of € 520m and employs 1,600 people.
Newlat has held a majority stake in Cli since April 2019, which in turn was created through the merger of the Turin plants with those of Florence, Pistoia and Livorno. The Newlat deal now brings dairies in Lodi, Reggio Emilia, Salerno and warehouses in Lodi, Reggio Emilia, Rome, Eboli, Pozzuoli and Lecce into the group.
