GEA Heating & Refrigeration Technologies continues to expand its semi-hermetic product portfolio. At Chillventa 2022 in Nuremberg/Germany, GEA presented two new screw compressor models, the GEA CompaX 350 and 400. GEA also launched the brand-new GEA Grasso X semi-hermetic screw compressor packages. For the GEA BluX chiller, there are major technical enhancements and adaptations for optimal implementation to the compressors.
All those solutions combine efficiency by using the natural refrigerant ammonia and a state-of-the-art motor and compressor technology. With an ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warning potential (GWP) of zero, ammonia is a particularly climate-friendly refrigerant and a particularly efficient one. It has excellent thermodynamic properties, reflected in very high efficiencies and hence low energy consumption and operating costs for refrigeration technology. It has consistently been used in food processing plants, the beverage and dairy industries, as well as in breweries and cold stores, last but not least for its very low charges.
Further highlights of the new GEA CompaX series are a wide, stepless adjustable variable internal volume ratio, an extremely wide speed range and the highest safety and reliability through decades of experience in developing screw compressors.
