The British dairy Alston Dairy was taken over by James Hall & Co. Kames Hall operates the Spar chain of shops in the north of England with over 600 shops. The retailer has already made a number of acquisitions in the fresh produce sector. Alston Dairy was founded in 1980 by Anne Forshaw as a farm dairy, has developed into a producer of premium yoghurt and employs 35 people.
