Planning tomorrow’s production
with foodfab
“The optimization of the processes in a building is the focus of our
design work – because this is the key to efficient food production,”
says a convinced Michael Trautwein, Managing Director of
the ATP consulting subsidiary foodfab. And his success shows how
right he is: The process planning specialist with offices in Innsbruck
and Munich has been advising the food industry’s big players for
over 30 years and has been market leader in the sector in Central
Europe for decades.
As a key member of the network of ATP architects engineers,
which, with over 1,000 employees, is Central Europe’s leading integrated
design office, foodfab develops sustainable, future-fit
building concepts. In a time of constantly changing consumer behavior
and growing global challenges, the company benefits hugely
from its many years of expertise and extensive knowhow in the
area of efficient production processes, structures, and layouts.
foodfab also reacted rapidly to the European Green Deal, which
was presented by the EU in 2019 and envisages a reduction in CO2-
emissions of 55 % by 2030 and the achievement of CO2-neutrality
by 2050, by introducing a bespoke climate protection masterplanning
service. “In cooperation with ATP sustain, the ATP Group’s
specialist design company in the field of sustainable building, we
draw up a CO2-reduction roadmap, which covers not only the core
processes of the building, but also all parameters related to the
site and surrounding area,” says Trautwein.
Every masterplan from foodfab is based on detailed analyses and
simulations. With the help of the digital planning method Building
Information Modeling (BIM) it is possible to control the efficiency
of the material flows and production logistics at an early stage, to
reduce resource consumption and costs over the entire building
lifecycle, and to provide clients with information that can facilitate
efficient decision making. “Digital integrated design enables us to
arrive at the best overall solution for a smart and economically
successful building. We do so by adopting the modular, expandable
construction method – for flexible and crisis-proof production,”
emphasizes Michael Trautwein.
Foodfab’s satisfied clients include well-known dairies such as Milei
and Uelzena in Germany and EkoNiva in Russia.
